Description We are in search of a diligent Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the Insurance industry based in BIRMINGHAM, Michigan. The successful candidate will oversee a range of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Billing Functions, with a focus on month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation and audits. The role also requires proficiency in using Sage Intacct, and experience in Statutory Accounting and Statutory Financial Reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage comprehensive accounting functions with a focus on AP, AR, and Billing Functions.
• Conduct month-end close procedures efficiently and accurately.
• Prepare and audit financial statements regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Utilize Sage Intacct for various accounting tasks and financial management.
• Comply with statutory accounting principles and prepare accurate statutory financial reports.
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records.
• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments.
• Effectively respond to and resolve customer credit inquiries.
• Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team. Requirements • Proficiency in managing Accounting Functions
• Experience handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Skilled in Billing Functions and Month End Close procedures
• Ability to prepare Financial Statements and conduct Financial Statement Audits
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct software
• Understanding of Statutory Accounting principles
• Experience in Statutory Financial Reporting
• Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred
• Ability to supervise and manage a team
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus
