- Select equipment and plan lay out, assembly and welding
- Lay out, position, align and fit components together using tape measures, squares, levels and tripod-mounted automatic level
- Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding
- Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc or as welding equipmen
- Assemble parts by bolting and riveting
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts
- Become proficient at operating the following equipment and performing the following operations under the supervision of a qualified co-worker:
- Weld metal parts together using both gas welding and any combination of arc welding processes
- Burn with oxy/acetylene equipment
- Operate portable power tools (i.e. drills, saws, impact hammers and wrenches, grinders, etc.)
- Operate the following stationary power tools: vertical hand saw, drill press, compound miter saw and radial arm saw
- Operate GC-1 gantry crane
- Operate an 8,000 to 15,000 lb. lift truck (must earn ACM license.
- .Keep work area clean and perform other housekeeping operations as directed by their immediate supervisor.
- Complete daily time report.
- Comply with all applicable rules and regulations, especially safety.
- Driver's License, Drug screening, Criminal Background, Reference Checks and a Physical/Medical exam are required
