Description
Weld County Public Works is searching for an Equipment Operator (Grader
III) to work out of Dacono. This position will operate construction
equipment for routine maintenance and reconstruction tasks on county gravel
roads in Dacono.
This position will operate out of Dacono.
$23.15 - $29.29 per hour plus benefits (see benefits tab on the job posting).

Operate heavy and light construction or road maintenance equipment.
Incumbent may have some lead worker responsibilities, including written
reporting/recording data as required.
Advanced level of Gravel Road maintenance.
This position must be proficient in the operation of a motor grader and
have a good working knowledge of a wide variety of heavy equipment used in
gravel road maintenance.
Must have a thorough knowledge of gravel road maintenance procedures.
Must be able to perform work without direction or immediate supervision
and follow detailed instruction to aid in the efficient and effective
completion of the project or assigned task.
Must be available to respond to and work extraordinary hours during
emergency events.
Must perform work in a courteous and safe manner.
When contact with the public is required, the employee must maintain a
courteous, helpful attitude.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE:
Requires two years of heavy or light equipment operation including motor
grader experience.
Must be proficient as determined by the department in the operation of a
motor grader and have a good working knowledge of a wide variety of heavy
equipment.
Must have a thorough knowledge of gravel road maintenance procedures.
Must be able to perform work without direction or immediate supervision to
aid in the efficient and effective completion of the project or assigned task.
Must be available to respond to and work extraordinary hours during
emergency events.
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally through radio
communications.
Valid Colorado Class A CDL license with tanker endorsement required.
Position reports directly to Dacono.
