You'll be the driving force behind a design strategy that stands out, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and rapid iteration.

This role is perfect for a creative leader eager to shape the future of meal subscription experiences.

The role is a mix of People Management + IC work but will skew more toward management over time. The candidate can work remotely within +/- 2 hours of Bahrain time zone, or we can relocate you to Dubai, Bahrain, or Riyadh. You can choose the location you prefer.

Main Responsibilities

Vision and Product Design Direction:

  • Craft and communicate a compelling UX vision that aligns with the startup’s strategic goals, making sure the product stands out in the crowd.

  • Serve as the design evangelist, promoting design thinking across all departments to ensure a unified and innovative approach to product development.

  • Embed user-centric principles throughout the product lifecycle, driving continuous innovation and ensuring the product meets market needs and user expectations.

Team Development and Management:

  • Build and mentor a kickass design team; recruit talent, set the bar high, and foster a culture of feedback, creativity, and growth.

  • Champion a collaborative work environment, breaking down silos and ensuring the design team works seamlessly with engineering, product, and other teams.

  • Keep the team motivated and on-track, using agile and lean methodologies to adapt quickly and efficiently to changes.

Execution Excellence and Innovation:

  • Oversee the design process from ideation to launch, ensuring projects are delivered with flair, on time, and above expectations.

  • Encourage a culture of innovation within the team, pushing for solutions that are not just good but groundbreaking.

  • Implement and refine design processes and tools to boost productivity, creativity, and the ability to scale rapidly in a fast-paced startup environment.
