The Opportunity:
The Quality Assurance Specialist will assist with developing, implementing and managing the effective use of the Quality Management System. Work on assigned tasks and projects. Partner with and provide guidance to the site personnel for Quality Management System components.
How you will contribute to WestRock:
Manage Q-Pulse administrative responsibilities as assigned. Includes Customer Complaints, Internal Deviations, Supplier Deviations, Corrective and Preventative Actions, Document Control and Audits.
Participate in and lead internal audits and provide written summary reports on finding
Participate in external audits including developing a written response and appropriate Corrective Actions
Support the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system by submitting and resolving issues, respond to assigned customer complaints including written response and evaluate rejected material
Support investigations related to customer complaints and internal deviations. Partner with investigation team to drive root cause identification and appropriate Corrective Actions.
Assist with compiling monthly quality performance, metrics, trends and reports
Conduct training sessions and assist to develop skill set for associates. Includes cGMP training, new employee orientation training and other training as assigned. Partners with the Training and Development Pillar team to drive training program.
Maintain site Signature log
Support Pest Management Program by working with vendor during onsite visits. Attend closing meetings with Maintenance function and vendor to ensure Work Orders are assigned and completed as needed.
Support supplier qualifications and audits as assigned
Manage assigned product trials, raw material evaluation, conduct test, gather data, evaluate and summarize results, write technical reports and help develop work instruction, test methods and procedures as needed

What you need to succeed:
Ability to work in a demanding, time pressured environment with tight deadlines
Working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma principles
Experience with ISO9001:2015, cGMP, food safety and HACCP
Experience with internal audits, external audits, SPC, product specifications and CAPA
Strong written, verbal and electronic skills to include training, data analysis and written reports
Good computer skills with experience using MS Office (Word, Excel and PP), MiniTab
Limited travel may be required
