Sierra Space Careers: Dare to Dream
We honor those that are not afraid to dream big dreams, those that
tenaciously chase their dreams even when others say it cannot be done, those
that achieve big dreams and change everything. Those are Dreams Worth Chasing.
At Sierra Space we envision a future where humanity lives and works in
space, on moons, and on distant planets. Our mission isn't restricted to
the few, instead we see a future where all people can choose to live,
work, discover and explore beyond our planet. Our company is building a
platform in space to benefit life on Earth and together we will alter the
course of humanity.
We have a bold mission. We are a bold company. Together, we are an
extraordinary team.
About the RoleAs a Structures Build Engineer on the Dream Chaser team, you
are responsible for design for manufacturing, tooling, and establishing
the overall build plans for spacecraft systems that will expand and expedite
humanity's ongoing access to space. On this team, you would get the chance
to own the build of large spacecraft primary and secondary structures. This
role will work heavily alongside both the design and production teams across
the Dream Chaser and Cargo Module programs. The role requires direct
involvement in the component builds and integration of assemblies; acting as
one of the primary driving forces to the successful builds of these vehicles.
Build Engineers will be highly engaged in the fabrication, test, and
integration of a wide range of vehicle and production systems, including
designing tooling and processes to rapidly build the Dream Chaser vehicles. As
the build progresses, this role will be responsible for integration
operations sequencing, and working with technicians to install
flight-critical hardware on the vehicle. Build Engineers will be expected to
sometimes step in as acting supervisors and advisors to production
technicians, quality technicians, and other skilled labor partners.
