Wells Fargo National Manager - Affordable Housing (LIHTC) Loan Administration - Community Lending and Investment in MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a National Manager to support Community Lending and Investment's (CLI) Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) team within our Commercial Real Estate (CRE) division. This individual will be responsible for managing a team that handles a variety of pre-close and post-close activities for a range of moderate to complex Commercial Real Estate Low-Income Housing Tax Credit transactions and other community development loans. In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop CLI's LIHTC Loan Administration team responsible for pre-closing tasks, booking, and post-closing loan monitoring

  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with the LIHTC Loan Administration team

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development within LIHTC Loan Administration team functional area

  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of new and revised systems, policies, and guidelines

  • Oversee implementation of practices to ensure compliance with Wells Fargo legal, investor, regulatory, or business policies

  • Determine appropriate strategies and actions of the LIHTC Loan Administration team to meet moderate to high risk deliverables

  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for meeting compliance, risk management, and quality standards

  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including experienced managers

  • Interact with external customers throughout the conducting of loan processing and liquidations evaluation

  • Provide quality customer service

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for LIHTC Loan Administration team

  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Transactions and Processing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) lending and investments

  • 5+ years in Commercial Real Estate, Community Lending or equivalent industry experience with commercial real estate documentation and closing coordination

  • 3+ years of Team Management experience

  • 2+ years of experience with commercial real estate Flood approvals

  • 2+ years of experience with booking and coding of loans

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience in Community Development Lending including New Market Tax Credit (NMTC), Community Development Finance (CDF), and/or Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)

  • Strong computer skills with an ability to learn and adapt to systems and technology

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

Job Expectations:

  • Candidate will need to be able to work in the office at least 4 days per week.
