Responsible for all aspects of injection molding process development for
new, incoming, and existing tools. Coordinate all activities required to
ensure a successful start-up to new processes, uninterrupted production
and maintaining overall company scrap rate goals. Key Accountabilities
and Responsibilities - Sampling of new, modified or customer supplied
tools. Coordinate Sample Orders and provide efficient mold sampling and
data collection. - Coordinate with production, engineering, toolroom,
quality, and maintenance to ensure all aspects of new production runs
are complete prior to actual production. - Process development, process
capability, IQ OQ PQ validations and design of experiments, SPC, machine
technology, and capability studies. Use of SIM tools (RJG eDart based)
and other advanced platforms to develop robust processing windows on new
and current tool and process capability studies, evaluations and
recommendations. - Develop and execute protocols and reports as required
to support validation activities. Including SIM tool documentation,
process analysis and reporting of data in clear format to be used in
Validation Reports - Participate in Program (Design) Reviews. Recommend
efficient mold design for optimum functionality and processing
capability and quality. - Identify all necessary requirements for
production and processing. - Identify and document tooling / process
shortcomings and recommend needed changes and/or improvements. To
facilitate the discussion and review of problems with in-house tool
personnel / process development teams and to assist in a documented plan
with each customer / tool. - Evaluate equipment and recommend
improvement or replacement. Act as liaison between Production,
Engineering, Quality and sales on all process / tool related issues.
Perform design of experiments to improve process and part quality. -
Identify and schedule repairs on any equipment critical to controlling
the molding process. Troubleshoot any equipment suspected of malfunction
and tag them (limited use or do not use). Develop a plan of attack with
manufacturing / production to schedule, troubleshoot and accomplish all
applicable repairs. Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to
formulate maintenance schedules on equipment. - Troubleshoot production
jobs for continuous improvement opportunities (cycle time, scrap
reduction, documentation clarity, etc.) as required. Assist with
start-ups and changeovers when required. - Assist in the development of
a preventative maintenance plan and refine plan on an ongoing basis for
new tools or equipment. - Commit to continuous improvement and develop
molding technology at Apex Resource Technologies. - Contributes to the
team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and is committed
to continuous improvement in all job functions Experience, Skills,
Education, And Training - Bachelor\'s Degree preferred, minimum high
school diploma or equivalent - 5-7 years of injection molding processing
experience required - Master Molder Training required - Has been trained
on the fundamentals of Scientific Molding which includes gate freeze,
viscosity curve, short shot studies, pressure drops and performing
DOE\'s. - Has the general understanding and knowledge of pressure
transducers, de-coupled molding and the interactions with injection
molding machines. - Has the capabilities and knowledge to set-up and
document Process alarm settings. Work Environment And Physical
