Health Conservation Incorporated Senior Manager of Operations in Rockford, Illinois

HCI is a national provider of occupational health services to corporations across the United States. HCI provides an ongoing service to support the health and safety plan of our clients to protect their employees while complying with OSHA regulations. Our core services include audiometric and respiratory screening services via our field technician teams and fleet of mobile units.

Position Description

The Director of Operations will be based at the HCI headquarters in Rockford, IL.  This is a “hands on” management position requiring the ability to manage processes and people as well as equipment resources.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Logistics Management:

  • Ensure that company resources and client services are delivered efficiently on time and in the most cost-effective manner.

  • Monitor and analyze areas for improvement

  • Maintain a dashboard to track key performance indicators, review with Sr Mgt monthly.

  • Design and implement strategies that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of HCI’s mobile testing operations.

  • Work closely with COO to oversee execution of said strategies.

     

  • Technology and Systems:

  • Evaluate and recommend current routing software, transportation management systems, and other logistics tools to streamline operations.

  • Continuously monitor and improve system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure data accuracy.

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and innovations in the logistics field, exploring their potential for enhancing operational efficiency.

     

  • People Management:

  • Lead and manage a department of route schedulers/planners, and fleet support to produce superior results for both internal and external customers

  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to facilitate knowledge, engagement, and optimal performance.

  • Foster a positive attitude that encourages collaboration, motivation and excellence. 

     

  • Fleet Management:

  • Work closely w/Fleet Support Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal safety and operating condition at all times.

  • Oversee coordination of vehicle repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Manage relationships with external transportation providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor vendor/supplier service levels.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding vehicle operation, licensing, and insurance.

     

  • Route Planning and Optimization:

  • Collaborate, develop, and implement efficient routing strategies for service delivery in view of time, distance, customers’ work shifts and anniversary test dates, geography, and cost.

  • Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for route optimization, client testing coverage, and cost reduction.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and ensure routes align with operational requirements and customer expectations.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field

  • 7 – 10 years strong work history / experience

  • Proven experience in route analysis, logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with a focus on routing and optimization.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficiency in using routing software, transportation management systems, and other relevant tools.

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation and logistics operations.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Problem-solving mindset and adaptability to handle changing priorities and time-sensitive situations.

    Salary commensurate to experience and abilities
