The Senior Audit Staff I provides formal auditing of Operational processes and procedures. This person will be responsible for identifying key risks and ensuring implementation of proper controls. They will also issue formal audit reports toQuality Team with findings and recommendations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile required sample selections and associated backup/evidence for all internal and external audits (including SOX compliance). Assesses (tests) audit evidence submitted to determine if it meets audit objectives, demonstrates completeness and accuracy, and does not contain unnecessary information.

  • Manages multiple deliverables simultaneously, facilitating audit engagements to ensure that objectives are met consistently. Ensure all audit requests are logged and tracked to completion, holding appropriate parties accountable to meet deadlines.

  • Develops audit timelines for Operational Audits (for both process and contractual compliance) to ensure alignment with key stakeholders. Partner with internal team members to define specific audit plans, and execute on the documented plan.

  • Creation of draft Operational audit reports (including findings and recommendations) to be presented to the Internal Audit Manager for review and update. Final report to be issued to Quality Team to drive implementation of key controls and training.

  • Determine proper sampling populations for the audit staff to perform follow up testing. Goal is to ensure controls are operating effectively, as recommended in the formal audit report. Gather results, document, and report out to Business Owners.

  • Coordinate ISO Certification and SOX compliance activities including annual audits. Gather supporting evidence, review for completeness, and submit to applicable 3rd parties.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Required Skills

  • General Audit skills (process, contract compliance, etc.)

  • Be able to f airly broad activities using moderately structured procedures with only generally guided supervision. Interpolation of learned things in somewhat varied situations.

  • Have considerable responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work; may also occasionally assist in the planning of work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.

  • Be able to perform work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance and also frequent opportunity for decision-making of major importance; the latter of which would affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.

  • Able to work under general supervision where standard practice enables the employee to proceed alone on routine work, referring all questionable cases to supervisor.

  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.

  • Coordination of Audit Projects/Activities Preferred.

Required Experience

EDUCATION

Required: Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college.

Preferred: Four year college degree, or equivalent experience resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job, such as accounting, marketing, business administration, agriculture etc.

EXPERIENCE

Required: 3-5 years related experience and/or training.

Preferred: 5-7 years related experience and/or training
