Shire Transportation Performance Management Analyst in 1445 Lawrence, California

Primary Duties: The Transportation Performance Management Analyst reports to the Transportation Performance Management Lead within the Technical Operations Supply Chain organization.

Transportation Performance Management (TPM) is responsible to measure, monitor and control global transportation spend and operational performance to ensure effective distribution of Takeda medicines to patients around the world.

Specifically, TPM is focused on: Freight Audit and Payment processes Budget / Spend Analysis and Reporting Transportation Strategy, Governance, and Analytics

As part of this team, the TPM Analyst will be responsible for achieving the following objectives: Develop, execute and continuously improve freight spend and reporting processes in alignment with Finance, Procurement, and/or relevant authorities. Establish and control Global Freight Audit and Payment processes with external partners. Support annual budget and other financial planning processes with baseline spend figures and trending analysis. Analyze monthly budget results and report findings to Senior Management. Measure performance of transportation partners through the establishment and monitoring of KPIs and metrics. Support the development of transportation strategies through cost assessments, data modeling, and ad hoc reporting. Drive innovation and a cost-efficient approach in Transportation while ensuring compliance and alignment with Supply Chain and Tech Ops objectives. Coordinate / execute the implementation of identified saving opportunities.

Responsibilities 60%: The incumbent is responsible for controlling freight and logistics invoices and allocation according to rules and process defined by accounting department (e.g. managing Freight Audit and Pay processes); Track and make visible freight and logistics costs; review payment process with account payable department Review of business rules, freight allocation accuracy (through assignment to accurate account ledger and cost centers) and accruals, in close collaboration with finance department. Provide monthly freight spend reports to management Ensure monthly reporting is aligned with global finance; identify and resolve any discrepancies. Meet contracted payment terms with freight forwarders and other logistics partners.

30%: Manage / support projects relating to the expansion of Global Freight Audit and Pay (new carrier onboarding, regional implementations, etc.) Support the development of transportation strategies and cost savings opportunities through cost assessments, data modeling, and ad hoc reporting. Provide tracking and reporting of cost saving initiatives. Actively participate in Transportation budget and financial planning processes.

10%: Participate in QBR and MBR with carriers and freight forwarder partners. Contribute to other initiatives in the area of transportation performance management as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements Essential: Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain, or Accounting / Finance preferred) OR Associate’s degree and minimum 6 years of Supply Chain or related technical experience

Desired: Minimum two years Global Supply Chain experience: transportation, warehousing, distribution, planning, etc. Familiarity with Freight Audit and Payment processes. Strong quantitative skills with experience in data management, financial analytics, and reporting. Biotech / Pharmaceutical / Medical Device or similarly regulated industry experience. Experience working in an international environment with global operations. MBA and/or APICS Certification a plus

Other Job Requirements High to expert level of MS office tools (Outlook, Word, PPT, excel, access, project) Able to work in fast-moving environment. Domestic travel up to 10%; International Travel up to 5%.
