About the role

Reporting to the Winery Operations Manager, this role will lead the Barossa Winery Cellar team and will be responsible for ensuring production requirements from Winemaking are met while upholding fiscal, quality, and safety standards.

  • Manage, coach, and support Cellar Area Leaders to prioritise work and achieve customer expectations.

  • Ensure a safe work environment by monitoring systems, equipment, and employee behaviors.

  • Optimise resource utilisation through efficient labour, plant, and material management.

  • Implement and maintain food safety and quality standards, conducting audits and addressing non-compliance.

  • Identify opportunities for process and system performance improvements.

About you

We seek a proactive and experienced people leader in either wine or food processing operations. This compliments your commitment to safety and passion for process improvement.

  • Certificate IV in Frontline Leadership or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in production or manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles, with certification preferred.

  • Previous exposure supervising or managing teams, ideally in a unionised environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment, drive, and initiative in achieving objectives.

  • Open-mindedness and willingness to embrace new ideas and techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills.

  • Commitment to safety protocols and consciousness of safety standards.

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of operational dynamics.
