Amentum Deputy Program Manager, Technical in Aberdeen, Maryland

Amentum is seeking a Deputy Program Manager, Technical in support of The US Army Communications-Electronics Command Software Engineering Center/Tobyhanna Army Depot (CECOM SEC/TYAD) Worldwide Field Support at locations both CONUS and OCONUS. This project will provide the Army a global range of mission-essential logistics, sustainment and maintenance services for current and future Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems, equipment, and ancillary operational requirements in support of the Joint Warfighter and coalition forces worldwide within the Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB) regions. This position is located on-site in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.

The candidate will work closely with the PM and client to perform the following:

  • Directs and provides leadership to contractor and sub-contractor teams working with local, State, or Federal government programs in accordance with existing procedures, applicable laws, and government requirements.

  • Applies government warehousing systems and processes to their daily duties.

  • Applies warehousing terminology, measures, concepts and principles.

  • Assures that consumer goods and services are being distributed in a way that is most efficient and profitable, applying scientific and mathematical principles to process the distribution of consumer goods and services.

  • Provides logistics technology for effective and efficient support of products, equipment, system manufacturing, or services.

  • Reviews contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements, such as facility details, staffing needs, and safety or maintenance plans.

  • Designs and analyzes the logistics processes and operational solutions used in distributing those goods and services; identifies and evaluates the effectiveness of all aspects of methods of distribution with the goal of improving operational efficiency, which would result in higher profits for the company; advises management on logistics topics; and proposes logistics solutions.

  • Develops the most streamlined, efficient method of product distribution possible.

  • Assesses the environmental impact or energy efficiency of logistics activities, evaluates logistics methods to reduce environmental impact, analyzes environmental regulations, and determines requirements to ensure organizational compliance.

  • Handles inventory, processes orders, plans warehouse layouts, and helps design product packaging to maximize shipping efficiency.

  • Interfaces with appropriate personnel or management to resolve systems and operations issues.

  • Leads a group of employees in carrying out a government program, administering and carrying out program requirements and activities, and assures compliance program activities with laws and regulations.

  • Ensures the effective management of the assigned program areas.

  • Maintains auditable records of received and issued items, shortages, damaged or non-conformances issues, records maintenance data and warranties necessary for documenting the material control processes.

  • Ensures goods are properly stored, secured, protected, and maintained according to manufacturers and government standards as required to preserve warranties and protect against damage and loss.

  • Maintains records of on-hand inventory, performs cycle counts and otherwise verifies the accuracy of physical inventory.

  • Prepares warehouse requests; removes goods from storage for authorized consumption and utilization; bags, tags, and otherwise prepares goods for issuance; makes the goods available at the point and time of need.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a SECRET Clearance.

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; an additional 5 years of experience can substitute for the degree.

  • A minimum of ten (5) years’ experience in managing warehousing operations, logistics operations, and field support maintenance.

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience with Army Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to include, Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), Defense Priorities & Allocations System (DPAS), Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP), Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment Contractor Logistics System (RAID CLS), and GCCS-Army.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification in functional area: Life Cycle Logistics at the Advanced Practitioner level or a Non-DoD equivalent certification in Acquisition Logistics or military/industry experience in logistics management with a focus on logistics operations similar in level of effort
