**DESCRIPTION: The Senior Project Manager provides oversight of the IT project management office, Defines and develops IT program/project management best practices, processes, and policy to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and goals; Partners with lines of business and multi-departmental leadership and other stakeholders to locate opportunities and develop and prioritize programs/projects according to relevant measurement criteria. Ensures that all projects within IT programs are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Project Managers are engaged in the planning, execution, and delivery of programs and projects intended to accomplish business goals and objectives within prescribed time-frames and budget
Develop methods to monitor project or area progress and provide corrective supervision if necessary
Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes
Manage project budget and resource allocation
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables
Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Schedule project timelines and milestones using project management software
Track project milestones and deliverables
Determine the frequency of status reports from the project team, analyzing results, and troubleshooting problem areas
Define project success criteria; disseminating to involved parties throughout project life cycle
Develop best practices and tools for project execution management
Manage day-to-day PM project activities like scope, cost, schedule, issue and risk tracking plus vendor management on rapid highly visible initiatives
Work with resource managers to build a cohesive project team.
