Role Objective
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and managing the costs associated with the company's production and operations. This role involves tracking and reporting on cycle counts and inventory, understanding product costs and standards, month end and audit support, as well as providing insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Cycle Count Reporting: Update metrics on cycle count results at all facilities. Provide report and support for external audits. Evaluate process and streamline with the implementation of EWM.
Accruals and Reserve Calculations: Track, accrue and report on designated areas within the Supply Chain (i.e. Utilities, Temporary Labor, etc.). Cross train on LIFO and MRO reserve calculations.
Variance Analysis: Analyze production variances, scrap and PPV and investigate discrepancies to provide actionable insights
Inventory Reporting: Analyze and report on internal and subcontractor inventory and variances
Period End: Support the month, quarter and year end process, including journal entries, receipts, adjustments and account reconciliations. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial results.
Audit and Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize efficiencies and cost management
Data Management: Generate and present data reports to others, highlighting key findings and recommendations
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degrees in Accounting, Finance or a related field required
Minimum two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing environment required
Previous experience with an ERP required
Proficient in MS Office programs including advanced Excel skills requires
Proficiency with PowerBI a plus
Supervision/Coordination
Communicates with internal and external customers using business communication practices
Collaborates with multiple teams including Supply Chain, Product Development and others
External contacts include auditors, vendors, and others
This role does not directly supervise GOJO team members
Travel Requirements
Travel between campus locations in Northeast Ohio as needed
