Parsons Corporation Safety Engineer in Al-Sinaiyah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Responsible for review and implementation and monitoring of the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programs. Responsible for providing advice on various safety aspects to all stakeholders, and for encouraging everyone to pursue safe work practices and to maintain safe conditions at their work sites. Investigates and prepares reports on accidents with an emphasis on prevention and/or recurrence.

Member of the Program Management Department professional staff. Reports to the HSE Supervisor – Program Management Department.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assists the Health Safety Security & Environment (HSSE) Section in developing/managing and implementing the job site safety programs.

  • Inspects work area, construction sites, machinery, equipment and working conditions for compliance to Royal Commission standards and Procedures.

  • Coordinates/Communicates with contractors, Construction Management to rectify/resolve HSSE issues.

  • Liaise with contractors for corrective action for immediate implementation.

  • Conducts audits/inspection and monitors the HSSE performance of all construction operations.

  • Act on upon HSSE findings and follow-up actions as required.

  • Initiates and supports accident investigations to minimize recurrence and prepares internal investigations and retains findings of these records.

  • Assists HSSE Section in identifying and investigating elements of an accident: unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.

  • Provides HSSE training to other engineers/inspectors.

  • Document and communicate all unsafe acts and conditions.

  • Review risk assessments, HSSE Plan and other HSSE documents.

  • Attend various site HSSE related meetings.

  • Carries out any additional duties within scope of responsibilities, as delegated by line manager.

  • What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Minimum B.S degree, preferably in Civil or Mech/Elect/Structural Engineering with minimum eight (8) years, post-graduate professional experience in the field of Health, Safety & Environment

  • Professional level of HSE certification.

  • Requires computer literacy and capable to operate current computer safety programs.

  • The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.

  • Presentation skills and report writing.

  • Min 3 years' experience as safety engineer or equivalent, in construction operations.

  • Must have ability to perform with minimum supervision and work cooperatively with Construction Department staff and contractor personnel.

  • Provide professional HSE support to Construction Department as necessary during construction phases
