Job Title: Assistant Controller

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the general ledger, driving process improvements, implementing efficient financial processes, overseeing cost allocations, and leveraging technology to enhance financial reporting. This position requires a candidate with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will have experience with Power BI and a proven track record in implementing and optimizing financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management:

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

  • Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts to maintain the integrity of financial data.

  • Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Process Improvement and Implementation:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance department.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and streamline financial workflows.

  • Develop and document standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.

  • Cost Allocations:

  • Oversee the cost allocation process to ensure accurate and equitable distribution of expenses.

  • Analyze cost allocation methods and recommend improvements for better cost management.

  • Technology Integration:

  • Leverage technology, including Power BI, to enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilities.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend tools that can improve financial processes.

  • Collaborate with IT to implement and integrate financial systems and software.

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards using Power BI for management review.

  • Analyze financial data to provide insights into business performance and trends.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

  • Proven experience in general ledger management, financial reporting, and cost allocations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and implement efficient financial processes.

  • Tech-savvy with expertise in using Power BI for financial reporting and analysis.

  • Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems; experience in system implementation is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
