Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG-25, within the Finance Administration unit of the Office of Information Technology Services, the Project Assistant, SG-NS, will be part of the Financial Administration Analysis team.Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:- Analyze organizational data to draw conclusions and provide strategic guidance and insight.- Develop a working knowledge of ITS finance processes and funding sources.- Research, report on, and discuss the status of finance processes and metrics.- Create reports and visualizations and present findings to organizational stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.- Automate reporting to enable a self-serve data service.- Identify, communicate, and assist with implementation of process improvements to various agency procurement types.- Monitor and manage various agency financial initiatives.- Meet with key stakeholders and identify key performance indicators and develop and maintain reports for these metrics.- Maintain finance dashboards.- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications Min Quals1. a total of two years of experience in: computer science; information technology project management; business/systems analysis; data analysis; business analysis; business administration; business management; or operations management.OR2. a minimum of 60 college semester credit hours including at least 15 credit hours as described in #1OR3. a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and at least one year of the experience in the following areas: network, server, storage, and systems management; telecommunications; IT customer support and training; computer installation, diagnosis and repair; technical writing; information technology project management; business/systems analysis;, data analysis; business analysis; business administration; business management; operations managementOR4. a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field, including or supplemented by 15 credit hours in computer science, data analytics, business analysis, or business administration courses;OR5. A bachelor's or higher-level degree in computer science, computer information systems, data analytics, business, or business administration.Preferred Quals:One or more years of experience developing solutions with Microsoft Power Automate or MS Power Apps.One or more years of experience with data visualization tools like MS Power BI.One or more years of experience with creating business process flow documents in MS Visio.One or more years of experience with MS SharePoint.

Additional Comments Some positions may require fingerprinting. Some positions may require up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs. Some positions are pending Civil Service approval. Positions located in New York City, will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non- competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At this time, agencies may recruit and hire employees by making temporary appointments. In May 2024, if a temporary NY HELPS employee is satisfactorily performing in the position, the appointment will be changed from temporary pending Civil Service Commission Action to permanent non-competitive and the official probationary period will begin.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
