Summary:
The Production Specialist serves as Technical Support for their designated shifts. They will drive on-time metrics and hold responsibility for Commercial products, NPI introduction, and Customer relations, as they pertain to Manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent Manufacturing in daily meetings to support the organization
NPI, RCA, Customer audits, Customer calls, CCB, etc.
Attend and support all Customer meetings
Own deviations, CAPAs, change controls
Help facilitate adequate completion of EM viable phase III’s
Facilitate RCAs for deviations and safety events, as needed
Provide Manufacturing signoff on MBR and SOP revisions
Create and revise SOPs and documents
Participate in NPI meetings to ensure appropriate Manufacturing oversight and engagement
Drive on-time closure of:
Regulatory commitments (owned by Mfg.)
Deviations
CAPAs
Velocity reports
Drive activities to improve EM health in the facility
Support continuous improvement projects
Support shift-wide training
Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in a scientific field and a minimum of 3 years of directly applicable experience in the industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access. Must be able to learn manufacturing software.
Other Qualifications:
Must have prior supervisory experience
Must pass background check
Must pass drug screen and physical
Must be available to work any shift
Manufacturing areas require full gowning (e.g., ability to bend, kneel and stand on feet for long periods of time in a clean room or warehouse area)
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
