Summary

ASM Global/Rapides Parish Coliseum, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Operations Team Leader at ASM Global/Rapides Parish Coliseum in Alexandria, Louisiana. The Operations Team Leader will assist the Director of Operations with the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and/or the events by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Director of Operations and Event Coordinators to develop time lines, schedules and action plans for event set-up and services.

  • Supervises and instructs the crews in the set-up, additions and changes, striking and tear down of Events. Makes changes in floor plans and layouts at the direction of management in charge of events. Oversees the changeover of the facility from one event to another.

  • Responsible for the post event cleaning, upkeep and minor maintenance of the facilities and related support areas. Reports all major maintenance items and safety concerns to management.

  • Assist Director of Operations with the repair and maintenance of all facility equipment, including warehouse, exhibition hall, meeting rooms, basketball court and office regularly and as assigned.

  • Responsible for delivering the highest level of service to all clients and events. Assists in resolving client’s questions and concerns.

  • Oversees the cleaning, minor maintenance and proper storage of all event equipment and furniture, including staging, audio / visual equipment and motorized equipment.

  • Assist in the training and orientation of new employees, assist with continuing education and training sessions for existing employees, monitors employees progress.

  • Ensures that Operations Department receives pertinent information for the most effective use of the facility and staffing.

  • Expected to resolve employee conflicts by reference to general work instructions and ASM Global’s policies and procedures. Informs management of disciplinary or other issues with team members.

  • Knows and ensures all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, Risk Management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed

  • Compiles information and generates time reports for event wrap up information and work studies and makes recommendations to management for increased productivity.

  • Assist with other outdoor grounds maintenance projects as directed.

  • Operates motorized equipment in the performance of assigned duties: Forklifts; Floor scrubber, aerial lifts, Personnel Movers, etc.

  • Works closely with clients and the general public and represents the facility in a professional and positive manner.

  • Communicates building policies with clients regarding set-up, move in/out, and over all facility policies.

  • Has knowledge of sense of timing as to what activities should be taking place within a time frame to accomplish necessary tasks to ensure a successful event.

  • Has knowledge of the materials, methods and practices used in operations.

  • Evaluates work procedures and facility wide operations and plans and develops improvements in consultation with Director of Operations.

  • Communicates clearly and effectively both orally, in writing, and electronically.

  • Serves as acting OSOD (Operations Supervisor on Duty) as directed by management

  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.

  • Knowledge of various audio, sound reinforcement, video, and lighting systems and equipment as they pertain to live event production

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member

  • Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours

  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management

  • Ability to effectively supervise staff

  • Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and must be able to learn Maintenance Manager Software program.
