JOB OVERVIEW

As Chief Design Engineer - Advanced People Flow , you will develop solutions for and complete the technical tasks associated with designing advanced people flow (APF) solutions for elevator projects. These tasks include interpreting customer and code requirements, defining equipment scope and other factors relevant to specific projects, and providing technical support to external customers as well as internal sales and installation personnel. As chief design engineer, responsibilities also include coordinating similar work by other engineers to support assigned projects, and serving as the primary engineering representative to other project stakeholders. This engineer will partner with the other global engineering teams as well as local and global supply management teams to deliver APF engineering support for North American projects.

Location : Allen, TX - open to 100% remote for the right candidate.

JOB DUTIES :

  • Analyze customer/consultant specifications for APF topics

  • Support the tender organization in pricing the APF solutions, deviating where necessary or offer alternative solutions to the customer

  • Support in the creation of the APF specification

  • Collaboration with multiple stakeholders within the project (KONE supply line, KONE R&D, KONE front line, 3rd parties, customer)

  • Participates in the full chain start up, internal supply line start up meetings and hand over meetings as APF engineering representative for the project.

  • Responsible for APF requirements from supply line for the project. This includes collaboration with stakeholders to translate customer requirements to software and hardware engineering requirements.

  • Responsible for the APF architecture for the project (signalization and system integration). Approves APF related documents for the project.

  • Create or facilitate the creation of APF customer approval documentation (typically appendices of the APF specification such as feature functional descriptions and UI storyboards)

  • Facilitate project APF design quality review meetings where it is verified that the electrification/signalization/software delivery is in line with the project requirements and system architecture

  • Collaborate with R&D to develop the APF system documentation and project APF software/system validation testing plan. Act as the contact point between the supply line and R&D testing team regarding the testing requirements

  • If deemed necessary, facilitate a regular project APF meeting between the supply line and frontline where APF related queries can be brought up for clarification

  • If so, agreed in the project act as the contact point for APF related queries from the frontline/customer.

Hiring Requirements :

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or Bachelor of Science with similar engineering education

  • Minimum, 5 years of related engineering experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), intermediate level.

  • Knowledge of CAD and/or SAP a plus, not required
