Summary:

The Temporary TRIO Teacher Preparation Student Support Services Program Professional Support assists with the development and coordination of the overall program, providing direct services to TPSSS participants and helps with the recruitment, identification, selection and monitoring of participants. This is a temporary position that will no more than 29 hours a week. The position will begin immediately and is not eligible for benefits.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.

  • Ability to operate office equipment.

  • Data entry experience.

  • Typing and spelling competency.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to provide quality customer service.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.

  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates a variety of duties for the department in which discretion and/or judgment concerning the procedures to use or policies to follow is required

  • Generates reports, memorandums, correspondence, presentation materials spreadsheets and graphics, and other similar materials using computer systems

  • Maintain database systems

  • Performs and coordinates scheduling tasks and support services associated with preparing and making arrangements for major meetings, conferences, exhibits, travel, or other related duties for both internal and external contacts

  • Manage/maintain supervisor's schedule

  • Conducts special projects and assignments as directed

  • Coordinates special events and functions

  • Coordinate and maintain departmental resources, i.e. library, vouchers, handouts

  • Other related duties as assigned

Supervision Received:

  • Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

Supervision Exercised:

  • May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
