Position Overview
The Electrical/Electronics Engineer is responsible for organization, execution and coordination of product development tasks, within a team of Engineers/Designers/Technicians as required. Responsible for product design and development of electronics and embedded systems of Lighting Control products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and review electronic circuit design concepts, drawings and layouts
- Design products in conformance with all necessary agency standards (UL, ETL, CSA, IEC, NEMA, IEEE, TIA, etc.)
- Act as internal consultant providing technical guidance to engineering and other cross-functional teams.
- Perform project management functions by working with cross-functional teams to implement the project objectives including budgeting responsibilities as allocated, developing project schedules and product specifications.
- Produce full engineering documentation including detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, performance specifications, and NRTL submittals.
- Support existing products and designs
Education, Skills & Experience
- BS Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree required
- 5 to 10 years in design and test of Electrical and/or Electro-Mechanical products.
- Experience with schematic and PCB design.
- Experience with embedded system development tools/IDEs for NXP, ST, TI or other microcontrollers.
- Proficient in design and prototyping of analog and digital electronic circuits, PCBs, and assemblies.
- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Strong project management skills in handling multiple simultaneous projects.
- Preferred, Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, electronic assembly processes.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and standards in electronic design (e.g., EMC, safety standards) and certification standards such as UL, CSA, FCC, etc.
