Siemens Energy TMS Engineer (TSE) Controls and Digitalization in Alpharetta, Georgia

A Snapshot of Your Day

The Total Maintenance Services (TMS) process achieves beneficial customer objectives including better unit reliability, shorter outage duration, higher service quality and safety, and overall maintenance budget planning and management through a series of detailed scope planning discussions for upcoming outages.

As a Technical Service Engineer (TSE) responsible for providing controls and digitalization support for the TMS process for large steam and gas plants, you will provide scope and product recommendations for upcoming outages to the Siemens Energy platform team and to the customer.

This position reports directly to the Technical Service Manager in the Region North America Service Technical Sales Central TMS Group.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide input to the TMS process by reviewing plant-specific configuration and customer needs and preparing product and scope recommendations for control systems associated with Siemens Energy large power generation equipment.

  • Review and analyze Siemens Energy control system technical recommendations to ensure their compatibility with the customer's technical and commercial requirements.

  • Participate in TMS meetings and discuss recommendations as required by the Technical Service Manager or District Service Manager.

  • Assist with resolution of customer issues and addressing of customer needs.

  • Support the data population of product information in product catalog databases.

  • Update unit specific configuration records as indicated by the TMS meeting preparation and action items from the TMS meetings themselves.

  • Provide technical feedback for, and participate in, key customer negotiations.

  • This is a new function in the team, so you will navigate some ambiguity to help develop and define the process, expectations, and division of responsibility for the role.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. 5+ years related work experience Siemens Energy control systems.

  • Strong background in Siemens Energy control systems.

  • Experience with and ability to utilize product lifecycle management systems to review configuration and version information.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to create and present a report detailing outage scope recommendations.

  • Location in Orlando, FL, or Alpharetta, GA office locations. Travel is approximately 20%.

  • Collaborate with customer maintenance managers, plant managers and executives.

  • Manage very diversified activities, using resources from many different parts of Siemens, customer organizations, and contractors.

  • Collaborate with other departments such as Marketing and Service Engineering to continuously improve Siemens Energy products and service offerings.

  • Communicate key technical, commercial and customer issues upward to Senior Management.

  • Develop and present documents and presentations for internal and external use.
