NANA Regional Corporation Assisted Living Server, Food Service, Part-Time - Marlow Manor in Anchorage, Alaska

Job Description

The Assisted Living Server position is responsible for taking customer orders, serving and plating food in an Assisted Living Environment. Some food preparation and food assembly may also be required in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest quality of service in a dining room setting.

  • Responsible for monitoring resident(s) during meal service in dining room.

  • Greet residents and take orders as prescribed by their individual diet plan.

  • Serves orders in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for washing and storing dishes.

  • Continuously check on the needs of guests in entire dining room.

  • Respond in a proactive nature to guest complaints.

  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items and their status for the day.

  • Assist in daily preparation and storage of desserts.

  • Maintain dining room and kitchen areas in a clean condition by practicing 'Clean as you go'.

  • Bus own tables and help others when necessary.

  • Complete all closing side work assigned and set up for the next shift per supervisor's instructions.

  • Practice sanitation standards making sure to wash hands frequently as required.

  • Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment.

  • Practice safety standards at all times.

  • Wear proper uniform at all times as specified in associate handbook.

  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Must have at least two (2) years of food service experience in the hospital, restaurant or hospitality industry.

  • Must have Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe contingent upon 30 days of hire.

  • Must have some combination of formal documented training, education or experience which demonstrates an interest in or a suitability for this type of work.

  • Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid, C.P.R. preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors, environmentally controlled.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually mild

Description of environment: This is an industrial kitchen located in a healthcare setting.

Physical requirements: Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift. Infrequently required to sit, crouch or crawl.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
