Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator and/or laboratory manager provides a wide variety of moderately complex to complex technical support for a research facility. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and inquisitive, with good organizational and communication skills. A candidate should also have a willingness to learn new techniques. The candidate must work effectively in a team setting, be able to communicate well, and keep clear records. In addition to the above laboratory skills, applicants should be able to input and analyze data using common software programs for PC-based computers.
Responsibilities*
Provide moderately complex to complex technical laboratory support for the lab.
Assist in evaluating research methods, procedures, and techniques based on established objectives.
Provides assistance in manipulating, computing, and analyzing data using complex statistical computer software.
Oversee a mouse colony, breed transgenic mice, administer various infections and treatments, and perform small animal surgeries.
Perform basic bench procedures including viral preparation and partial purification ELISA, qPCR, cell culture and immunoblotting.
Provide supplemental library research as requested.
Participate in lab meetings and present data.
Required Qualifications*
Senior
Bachelors degree required and 1-2 years experience
Requires the academic knowledge of a health science discipline such as microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy, pathology or medical technology, plus the ability to translate, adapt and apply this knowledge.
Intermediate
High school diploma or Associates degree and 1 to 2 years' experience.
Requires the academic knowledge of a health science discipline such as microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy, pathology or medical technology, plus the ability to translate, adapt and apply this knowledge.
Associate
High school diploma or Associate's degree and 1 year of experience.
Requires the academic knowledge of a health science discipline such as microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy, pathology or medical technology, plus the ability to translate, adapt and apply this knowledge.
