The Leasing Consultant is responsible for welcoming prospective residents to the community, coordinating tours, and responding to incoming inquiries about leasing. The position also supports current residents with day-to-day issues and coordinates renewal of existing leases. The Leasing Consultant is a central point of communication between the Community residents, Community management, and community maintenance teams.
Essential Functions and Position Responsibilities
Welcome all residents, prospects, and visitors to the community
Effectively lease apartments and sell property’s products and services in accordance with budget
Ensure Fair Housing Standards are followed in all matters when working with prospects and residents
Follow up on leasing traffic entries and monitor traffic trends
Maintain thorough product knowledge of property and that of major competition
Assist with marketing activities to position Bell communities as communities of choice
Review resident applications in accordance with Bell guidelines
Complete lease packets and files for each resident to include the lease, all addendums and other
Maintain positive and professional relationships with residents throughout the lease
Respond to resident inquiries, complaints, or issues and provide timely follow up
Regular attendance and punctuality
Additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong marketing and creativity skills
Tech-savvy with strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Knowledge of Yardi Voyager or similar programs preferred
Exceptional customer-service focus
Basic knowledge of, and compliance with, Fair Housing laws
Works successfully on a team
Superior interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful; mature, flexible in any situation, able to shift priorities
Basic to intermediate math aptitude
Demonstrates support of Bell Core Values
Demonstrates support of BAL strategic drivers
Presents a professional image
Resourceful and well organized
Education and Competencies
High School diploma or GED required
BA/BS in business, marketing, hospitality, or related field preferred
1+ years of apartment leasing, sales, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
