Sunrun Sr. Strategy and Business Intelligence Analyst in Annapolis, Maryland

The Sr. Strategy and Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for turning data into insightful and useful knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions and to improve operations and processes.

This analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting the Sunrun’s Operations org. They will build a solid understanding of the business and form relationships with key business partners. They will go beyond visualization and will use data to develop reasons and improvement opportunities to support the future growth and operational success of the organization.

Successful candidates for this role will possess analytical skills and have some level of experience in project management. They will be persistent in looking for opportunities to improve our business and helping actually bring improvements to fruition.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify trends, correlations and opportunities to improve business profitability, operations and processes

  • Glean insights from existing and new datasets and dashboards

  • Develop hypothesis and theories to explain trends

  • Validate hypothesis by meeting with and interviewing front-line employees and management

  • Develop business cases and scope projects to capture the opportunities

  • Support the monthly and quarterly cadence for the Operations Leadership Team:

  • Ensure weekly scorecards are accurate and provide commentary on trends

  • Support bi-weekly review of specific customer projects

  • Monthly performance review and recommendations of front line managers and forepersons

  • Prepare templates for Monthly and Quarterly Business ReviewsPartner with Business Leaders to develop actionable reporting and analytics

  • Partner with the management team to define key metrics; then scope and execute analytics projects

  • Clearly define business requirements with key team members up front, and set expectations for development timeline

  • Manage build out of each analytics project, strategically checking in with collaborators throughout development to garner feedback and ensure impactful end product

  • Launch & train key collaborators on new reporting or analysis

  • Manage suite of existing data dashboards

  • Ensure the continued sustainability and accuracy of key Operations dashboards

  • Identify ways to improve existing dashboards to enable improvement within the Operations organization

  • Migrate existing reporting to more automated & sustainable platforms

  • Fulfill ad-hoc requests from business leaders for tweaks to metrics, added views, and updates to visualizations

  • Fulfill Ad-hoc data requests as needed

  • REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS)

  • 5+ years of related experiencein a business analyst, data analyst or project management role OR 3+ years’ experience with MBA or other graduate degree.

  • Four year college degree in a technical or business field. MBA or other graduate degree preferred but not required.

  • Strong desire to understand the operation of the business and root cause for outcomes

  • Finance acumen: has a solid understanding of the basic principles of finance and accounting; experience in the residential solar space is not required, but is preferred

  • Propensity to follow through when faced with challenges, and drive toward resolution

  • Ability to translate operational business needs into data requirements - conduct requirement gathering/metrics definition workshops with business collaborators

  • Ability to convey complex information in an easy to understand and concrete format for non-technical users

  • Ability to break a problem down into discrete tasks, estimate time requirements and then deliver to deadlines

  • Must be highly proficient with G-Suite, Word, Powerpoint, Excel and CRM systems.

  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of SQL (if moderate, ability to self teach to advanced)

  • Proficient with BI tools & data visualization platforms (Tableau)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sophisticated understanding tailoring content to the audience

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$102,905.78 to $137,207.70

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
