We're seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join out Heavy Civil division, to work on both Public and Private Projects. Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the execution of PennDOT heavy highway construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist in managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a solid understanding of highway and bridge construction processes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing PennDOT highway and bridge projects
- Coordinate with field superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers to ensure project progress
- Monitor project budgets, prepare cost reports, and assist in change order documentation
- Ensure compliance with PennDOT specifications, contract requirements, and safety regulations
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
- Assist in preparing project submittals, RFIs, and reports for PennDOT and other stakeholders
- Conduct field visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Support project closeout procedures, including documentation and final inspections
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in heavy highway construction, preferably on PennDOT projects
- Strong knowledge of PennDOT standards, project management principles, and construction methods
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, HCSS HeavyJob, Procore, or similar)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
