Eaton Corporation’s Power Distribution Controls and Assemblies (PDCA) business is seeking a Director of Operations. This person will lead a division with revenue of approximately $2.0B, with over 2,800 employees and 8 sites in the North America. It will report directly to the Sr. VP/GM of PDCA and Commercial Products and Assemblies (CPA) businesses. This position can be based in our facilities in Charlotte or Asheville, NC.
Position Overview:
The Director Operations position is responsible for the overall leadership of Manufacturing and Operational Excellence functions, with multi-site plant facilities geographically dispersed across the region. This position will lead across functional areas in manufacturing, quality, operational excellence, logistics, production, and EHS. This person will work closely with other business and functional leaders to ensure standardization and establishment of performance metrics. The Director is also responsible for developing and implementing in partnership with the plant operations staff a strategy to support achievement of the organization’s financial metrics/goals as defined by the profit and strategic plans.
Essential Functions:
• Establish, develop and execute the appropriate operations strategic plan to support the organization’s business and financial goals. Strategic focus on new product industrialization (make/buy, process choice, capacity considerations, infrastructure/footprint strategy).
• Formulate and implement strategic changes in manufacturing and operations that guide the organization, maintaining and improving competitive position, profitability and conformance of products to established customer and company quality standards.
• Manage policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, lead-time and cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and plant performance measures.
• Lead efforts to continuously improve manufacturing/operational excellence and define related performance metrics/tools. Establish and maintain key performance metrics, taking overall responsibility of manufacturing performance.
• Partner with plant operational leaders to oversee operational effectiveness for driving Hi-5 + metrics.
• Together with each plant manager, provide leadership for plant based OPEX leaders and the organization through proactive and effective communications.
• Drive a high performance workforce through effective talent management. Attract, coach, mentor and develop strong leaders within the organization.
• Drive compliance to EHS programs and ensure adherence to local regulations, Eaton policy and good corporate citizenship.
• Work with the supply chain function to establish inventory and proactively manage inventory to profit plan.
• Execute the Supply Demand Planning (SIOP) process, driving ownership and collaboration across all stakeholder groups.
• Develop and educate employees and leadership on Eaton business tools into the organization including EBS, Six Sigma, Eaton Lean System, PROLaunch, SIOP and Eaton Continuous Improvement system (ECIS)
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years manufacturing and/or technical experience and expertise
• Seven (7) years of leadership responsibility
• Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing systems
• Plant manager experience in large manufacturing facility is preferred.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

Education:
• An undergraduate degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $198749.97 - $291499.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
