Job Title: Tool and Die Maker - Day Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining operations, experience with CAD/CAM software, and the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to create accurate tools and dies.

  • Operate and maintain various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.

  • Conduct tests and inspections to ensure tools and dies meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and repair tools and dies as needed to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool and die designs for manufacturability.

  • Document tool and die modifications and maintain accurate records of tool usage and maintenance.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or technical school training in tool and die making.

  • Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.

  • Strong knowledge of machining operations and metalworking processes.

  • Experience with CNC programming and operation.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of tool and die making experience.

  • Experience reading CAD drawings.

  • Experience using manual machines such as milling machines, lathes, and drill presses.

  • Technology and Manufacturing Association Certificate (TMA Certificate).

  • Experience in machine building (nice to have).

  • Experience in automation design (nice to have).

  • Additional years of experience in tool and die making (nice to have).

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $95000.00/yr.
