U.S. Marine Corps ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT in Arlington, Virginia

Summary The incumbent serves as the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions Architect for the Marine Corps in all matters related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related technologies. The incumbent is responsible providing expertise in the areas of policy, strategy, architecture, and governance for the design, development, and implementation of enterprise level AI solutions and infrastructure. Responsibilities You will serve as a senior technical expert and advisor for AI related efforts as well as represent the United States Marine Corps (USMC) for joint, coalition, and non- Department of Defense (DoD) related AI efforts. You will develop AI policies, strategies, architectures and identify AI-enabling opportunities and solutions for Marine Corps warfighting and business operations. You will plan and execute activities supporting the establishment and operations of AI standards, machine learning, algorithms, and data quality management. You will provide expert advice to the USMC to ensure that cutting-edge technology enhances warfighter capabilities and mission execution effectiveness, including technologies such as augmented reality, AI, and autonomous unmanned systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Applicants will be assessed against Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs). MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Each must be addressed separately in your Supplemental Narrative Statement. Each MTQ must not exceed 2 pages.) 1. In-depth knowledge and expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing, with a proven track record in designing and developing AI systems for military and defense applications. 2. Expertise in cloud computing, big data technologies, and distributed computing, with a deep understanding of how these technologies can be leveraged to support AI solutions for the military and defense. 3. Strong project management skills, including experience leading cross-functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, and developing project plans to ensure the successful delivery of AI solutions. 4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders, and to collaborate effectively with other team members, vendors, and external partners. 5. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical and business challenges related to AI systems and infrastructure. 6. A deep understanding of data management and governance best practices in the military and defense sectors, including data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations. 7. Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest AI technologies and trends, and to identify potential opportunities for innovation and collaboration in the field. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
