SOLUTE Careers Computer Network Architect in Arlington, Virginia

Sigma Defense is seeking a Computer Network Architect to support Army Network Modernization CONUS and OCONUS who will build and design data communications networks including Wide Area Networks (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), and intranets.

The ideal candidate has the ability to travel to U.S. Army bases CONUS and OCONUS 20% of the time.

This is a contingent position that is pending award of contract. This means that the position is subject to the successful awarding of a contract and will be confirmed once the contract is finalized. The candidate selected for this role will be offered the position on the condition that the contract is awarded to our organization. Determination on award of contract is targeted for 2025.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of proven experience in designing and 10 years of proven experience in implementing and managing enterprise-level network infrastructures.

  • 10+ years of experience; minimum 6 years of experience DoD contracting market of major weapons systems product development and acquisitions.

  • Demonstrable expertise in strategizing and architecting complex network solutions.

  • Strong experience in developing and implementing network architectures that are aligned with business goals.

  • Solid understanding of scalable, secure, and efficient network solution implementation.

  • Proficiency assessing network needs, conducting feasibility studies, and providing strategic technical recommendations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams to understand business requirements and convert them into technical designs.

  • Extensive knowledge in designing and overseeing the execution of network security protocols.

  • Proven track record of providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineer, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field of study.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance.

  • A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Candidate Differentiators:

  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS 20% of the time.

Essential Job Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)

  • Build and maintain secure networks optimized for performance.

  • Configure software and hardware on systems and networks to support customer needs.

  • Create and communicate technology project and service implementation roadmaps, plans, documentation, and training.

  • Design and implement of mission-critical technology and applications.

  • Increase network scale and functionality to maintain pace with growth.

  • Create data communications system strategy and present implementation plans to functional leads.

  • Upgrade hardware to include routers and adaptors, and software such as network driver to support computer networks.

  • Research new and emerging technologies to determine which would best support the organization and customer in the future.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $170,000 annually.
