Amazon Senior Product Manager-Technical, Secure Connection Services in Arlington, Virginia

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to own and deliver new connectivity options for US National Security and Department of Defense partners to access the AWS government regions.

At Secure Connect Services within AWS, we enable connectivity between National Security, Department of Defense, and government contracts sites and the AWS government regions. We enable our customers missions by enabling them to store, access, and collaborate with their critical data within the classified cloud. This opportunity is for a Product Manager - Technical to join the Edge Connectivity team and own a new connectivity option for customer's to connect to the cloud. You will work closely with our customers to understand how customer data moves today and how we can provide a seamless solution for their data to flow to the cloud in the future. You will lead collaboration between the Edge Connectivity engineering team, the AWS field, and the customer to define this new offerings. You will own bringing the service to customers including naming, pricing, internal and external communications. You will influence AWS Senior leadership on the service launch, roadmap, and future services we should add to the portfolio. Along the way, you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers and their unique journey to the AWS Government cloud

  • Become a Voice of the Customer to the Edge Connectivity team and the larger Secure Connection Services organization

  • Own the AWS Working Backwards process for your service including definition, pricing, naming, and launch.

  • Work closely with the Edge Connectivity engineering team to provide technical recommendations on their designs and prototypes

  • Own the long term vision for your service, communicating that vision to our senior leaders

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience

  • 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience

  • 3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience

  • Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market

  • Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
