Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Collect, classify, organize, and store original data and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
Input and record source documents into the accounting system for accurate bookkeeping.
Execute monthly financial closing tasks to support timely reporting.
Evaluate and validate financial statements and reports provided by external accounting service providers.
Compile consolidated schedules and trial balances from both internal systems and outsourced accountant data.
Generate monthly standalone and consolidated trial balances, balance sheets, and income statements.
Create customized accounting reports based on requests from leadership, auditors, or tax consultants.
Develop budget-to-actual variance analyses to provide insights into financial performance.
Maintain detailed transaction logs for all banking accounts.
Complete monthly reconciliations of bank transaction logs against financial records.
Support adherence to internal controls, corporate accounting policies, and U.S. GAAP standards.
Manage general accounting activities typical to a corporate finance team.
Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, as well as coordinating tax payments with federal, state, and local authorities.
Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants to streamline their reviews and analyses.
Oversee updates and backups for accounting software to ensure system integrity.
Research and interpret regulatory changes in accounting standards to ensure compliance.
Help revise and enhance procedural documentation for internal controls and standards.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and its financial applications.
Strong aptitude for math with sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
Foundational understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant experience in accounting.
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software platforms.
Experience working with other accounting systems and tools.
Exposure with international organizations.
