The Leader in Training Lead assists the Director in coordinating and
overseeing all daily activities for the Apex PRD Day Leader in Training Camp.
The Camp Lead must have demonstrated maturity of judgment, administrative
ability, and the skill to supervise appropriately and direct school-age
children to the hiring authority in an unstructured setting.
The camp lead will assist in providing a safe, healthy, and positive
environment. Their daily responsibility is to schedule team-building
activities, leadership opportunities, and volunteer opportunities for this
age group. Both the Lead and LIT Director will facilitate all field trips;
discipline both to maintain positive daily outcomes and overall program
management; assess the comprehensive program to see if any changes need to
be made for optimum functioning; establish a procedure for handling all
difficulties related to health, behavior, and other problems and report
incidents to the Recreation Coordinator.
The schedule will vary between 6:30 am and 6:30 pm Monday thru Friday from
May 30 through August 11
Job Qualifications
Experience includes care and supervision of four or more children from the
ages of eleven (11)-to seventeen (17) years old, unrelated to the
individual, since attaining the age of eighteen (18).
Is a minimum of 21 years of age.
Obtains a valid Colorado Driver s License, appropriate insurance
coverage, and a clean driving record for the past three years.
Have the ability to drive a 12-passenger van with a clean driving record.
Must have a satisfactory review with the Central Registry of Child Protection
Provide three references.
Will receive CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, and Universal
Precautions Certified required within 90 days of hire.
Education and Experience
High School diploma required.
Experience caring for children ages 5 to 12 years is required in a public
atmosphere.
Must have customer service experience and good conflict management skills.
Knowledge of youth games, activities, and arts and crafts projects is also
desired.
Ability to be on your feet for 6-8 hours and lift 40 lbs.
NOTE: This job announcement outlines the primary responsibilities, but

A one-time bonus in the amount of $300 will be paid to eligible part-time,
non-benefit eligible camp staff who work an average of 32 hours per week or
more during eight of the 12 weeks listed below. Eligible camp staff include
the following non-benefit eligible part-time staff: leader in training camp
lead, licensed director camps, licensed lead camps, and teen adventure
camp director. The specified timeframe begins on May 19, 2024, and ends on
August 10, 2024. This bonus is scheduled to be paid on the August 30, 2024, pay
