Production Planner Athol, MA Full Time Operations Experienced Job
Summary The Production Planner is primarily responsible for the ongoing
material and production planning of both parts and finished goods to
meet on-time delivery (OTD), improving inventory turnover, and
maximizing company results. Assumes full responsibility for planning
requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely (scheduled)
deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs.
Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Duties
and Responsibilities Review planned factory workload and capacity
availability, sales demand, inventory levels, and customer orders to
determine production quantities. Collaborate with production departments
to create efficient production schedules that meet customer demands and
accommodate maintenance and shutdowns. Review daily reports to identify
critical supply issues - investigate, inform, and define needed action
to resolve, minimizing delays Manage the creation and confirmation of
production orders, synchronizing timing and expediting as needed. Manage
inventory by maintaining levels at defined targets. Compiling status and
performance reports and submitting to management in a timely manner.
Establish work instructions for each planning-scheduling process.
Determine material requirements from Engineering and production
schedules and coordinate the efficient movement of materials through
production cycle; Take on special assignments as warranted; such as
projects to resource commodities; Conducts business by using appropriate
judgment for actions, maintains high standard of work behaviors. Ensure
that the highest quality standards are maintained in all functions &
responsibilities of the job as well as executed in a manner, which
supports the company?s quality standards; Establish work instructions
for each planning-scheduling and purchasing process; Maintain Metrics;
Support Lean activities and initiatives; Support EHS activities and
initiatives; Perform other duties/special projects as assigned
Qualifications 2-3 years of proven experience as a production planner in
a manufacturing setting. Experience with MRP / ERP systems (preferable
Oracle or SAP) APICS CPIM certification a plus Experience in supply
chain management and inventory control Demonstrated negotiation skills
Proficiency in MS Office products (especially Word, Excel) Strong
interpersonal skills - ability to work in a cross-functional team
environment Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to
communicate with technical and non-technical teams Must be a highly
motivated self-starter Must be organized and able to balance multiple
priorities appropriately Must be goal-focused and committed to
completing task. Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability
