We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for supervising Mechanical Maintenance at the Wastewater Treatment Facility and outside pumping stations and ensuring that work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures. This position plans, develops, organizes, schedules, and supervises all routine, preventive, and corrective mechanical maintenance.

Normal workday hours are 7:00AM - 3:00 PM Monday through Friday with occasional weekend and storm coverage. Must be able to work holidays and as required for emergency call outs.

Typical responsibilities include: Assumes responsibility for daily maintenance at the wastewater treatment facility as directed by the Plant/Project Manager. Performs operation of assigned treatment, mechanical and electrical equipment and other similarly related facility components and equipment. Performs and leads preventive maintenance activities as scheduled to include inspection of remote pump stations and ancillary equipment. Utilize and maintain maintenance software programs with respect to asset management, capital planning and loss prevention. Fully competent in corrective maintenance best practices and scheduling. Maintains a complete and accurate on-site logbook and records Coordinates with Operations staff to evaluate equipment performance and correct deficiencies. Lead pricing and planning of capital maintenance projects and other out-of-scope activities.

What will you need to succeed? Must have high school diploma or educational equivalent. Courses in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance are a plus. Minimum of five years' experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment. Georgia Wastewater Certification preferred, any grade, but not required. Experience with the maintenance of pumps, compressors and plumbing fixtures. Thorough knowledge in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office programs, computerized maintenance programs a d computerized databases including SCADA... Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees. Must possess a valid Georgia State driver's license. Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$25 - $30 an hour

Depending on qualifications and experience.
