Newell Brands Manager, Insights Ideation in Atlanta, Georgia

Consumer, Shopper & Ideation (CSI) at Newell Brands is a strategic business partner who works cross-functionally across the organization, co-creating innovative products, brands and services. CSI efforts are grounded in deep understanding of brands, consumers, shoppers, competition, product categories, retail and omni-channel customers, cultural trends and market dynamics.

The posted position of Manager, Insights Ideation will be specifically supporting efforts to drive multi-year brand innovation pipelines across the Newell Brands organization. As part of the Ideation team, this role has key responsibilities facilitating and building new idea generation with the Newell brand teams. The Manager, Insights Ideation helps generate, update and deliver effective and relevant creative workshops designed to stimulate the pre-funnel ideation and concept generation. Strong communication and people skills are required in order to partner with the cross functional teams that the Ideation group interfaces with on a regular basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Design and facilitate the entire front-end Innovation process

· Preparation / creation of high-quality presentation materials through different media.

· Influencing project teams through persuasion and communication in all innovation sessions.

· Assist the group with external vendors to accelerate idea generation, project proposals, timelines, and mgmt.

· Serve as a trusted advisor to the Segment business teams on creative process and techniques. Managing and helping to develop the intern supported workshop teams.

· Work cross-functionally to plan, scope & secure resources for major programs

Ideal Candidate Profile

· Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

· Business acumen: Highly Developed understanding of key metrics, business drivers and functional roles

· Proven track record of integrating broader consumer insights into innovative idea solutions.

· Versed in research techniques and methodologies

· Ability to participate in a variety of human centered design activities, including comfort moderating ethnographic research.

· Experience and knowledge of Design Thinking methodologies, including problem framing, abstraction laddering, divergent and convergent thinking.

· Be a collaborative business partner and influencer

· Be able to synthesize across multiple internal and external data sources to formulate insights

· Be able to translate insights into meaningful, actionable stories and recommendations

· Drive for results with a sense of urgency

· Be curious and dig below the surface for the most impactful insights

· Be a good educator to cross-functional partners in consumer centricity to enable them to successfully apply insights and trends to their business area(s)

· Be able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and comfortable with shifting scope

· Be able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

· Positive, can-do attitude

Candidate Requirements

· Four-year college degree, graduate degree or PhD preferred.

· Six years + of relevant experience in corporate or consulting design

· Strong experience facilitating and ideating with cross-functional teams

· Experience tailoring communications to different audiences and communicating to stakeholders: brand leadership, cross-functional team members, agency and retail partners, etc.

· Genuine respect for and curiosity about consumers, shoppers, and end users.

· Self-motivated and flexible. Willing to learn new things

· Demonstrates an understanding of differences among countries and cultures.

· Experience discovering consumer insights that lead to actionable recommendations.

· Willingness to continuously build advocacy for the consumer insights function.

· Proven ability to drive multiple programs simultaneously

· Ability to work and lead teams independently toward project goals and timelines with minimal direction

· Ability to travel occasionally and work internationally.

· Highly developed conceptual, creative and analytical skills
