How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Manager, Wellness Nutrition is responsible for the strategy, planning, implementation and continuous improvement of the health and nutrition of Delta’s onsite food and beverage offerings. The Manager will lead the adoption and education of Delta’s Food Policy as well as ensure compliance to healthy food and beverage guidelines elevating the employee dining experience. This role reports to the General Manager – Wellness Environment & Engagement.

Food Policy: Lead the implementation and adoption of Delta's healthy food policy – including auditing and quality control of policy implementation, cross divisional marketing and promotion of the food policy and employee socialization to create awareness of Delta’s healthy food offerings and close experience gaps related to healthy, affordable food.

Recipe Development: Support recipe development, menu production, and foodservice management standards related to Delta’s food footprint alongside Delta’s food service providers. Support nutrient analysis for all food items served. Work with food service providers to ensure all menus meet Delta guidelines. Inform leaders of menus, rotation style and employee preferences.

Auditing and Continuous Improvement: Perform quality control audits to ensure offerings and adherence to Delta and health safety guidelines and are consistent across operations. Audits to include nutrition, food safety, and experience of food and beverage offerings across Delta’s divisions.

Education: Develop education framework for operating locations to ensure employee knowledge of Delta food and beverage offerings and resources. Incorporate employee feedback into opportunities for nutrition education. Partner with divisions on opportunities and promotion of Delta’s food and nutrition offerings and resources for healthy lifestyle practices.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, food and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university from an Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics accredited program.

  • Registration as a Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration.

  • Licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia or ability to apply/transfer based on current registration as dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration.

  • Prior mass food production, catering operation, menu development and/or culinary education/experience required.  

  • Two years of experience as a dietitian/nutrition.

  • General knowledge of food safety regulations is required. 

  • Quality orientation and attention to detail a must.  Must have high work ethic and commitment to excellence.   

  • Project Management experience required. Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills required with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, including ability to develop strong strategic presentations and business cases. 

  • Should have strong analytic skills and be able to gather, manipulate, and interpret data and develop action plans based on the analyses.  

  • Must have ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure and respond quickly to high priority requests.  

  • Flexibility and creativity are required to coordinate issue resolution in a constantly changing environment. 

  • Proven organizational, planning and time management skills necessary. Strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills required. Must proactively follow up on processes and issues through completion in order to meet timelines. 

  • Some flexibility needed to work some weekends or evenings, and 30% travel

  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Must be performing well in current position.  

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. 

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. 

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
