WSP USA Project Manager- Energy in Atlanta, Georgia

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager - Energy in Atlanta, GA to be involved in projects with our Energy Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. The following locations will also be considered: Charlotte, NC, Birmingham, AL and Orlando, FL.

Your Impact

  • Serve as project manager for energy and power projects involving transmission and distribution including substations and transmission lines, renewables including solar, battery, and wind, hydropower, electrification, generation, and industrial projects.

  • Familiarity with high voltage and medium voltage applications.

  • Effective leadership in a matrix organization.

  • Initiation, Planning, Monitoring, Executing, and Closing Projects — defining the project WBS, Cost Baseline and OBS structure, initiating the project, building its comprehensive work plan, controlling and managing to the risks, scope, schedule and budget

  • Managing Teams — facilitating commitment and productivity, removing obstacles, and managing teams

  • Implementation and Management of Quality and Environmental Process and procedures on all projects focusing on meeting all performance indicators.

  • Accountable and Responsible for: - Cost /Budgeting and Management - Communication Management - Change Management - Schedule Management - Construction Management Oversight - Commissioning Management Oversight - Risk Management - Regulatory and Stakeholder Management

  • Some regional travel is anticipated.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • Able to work in a self directed environment

  • 3+ years of experience in total in Project Management and Engineering

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Competence in analytical techniques in tackling technical problems with some complexity

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Project Management Professional certification is strongly preferred.
