JOB SUMMARY

This position provides administrative support for the Brand and Creative Director and occasionally to the Brand and Creative leadership team within Corporate Communication. The successful candidate must have extensive administrative experience supporting an officer, director, or manager. This position requires exceptional organizational, prioritization and calendar management skills. The Senior Administrative Assistant role requires someone who is detail-oriented and can resolve conflicting priorities and adjust changing schedules as needed. The candidate must have a professional presence and be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.

This position works very closely with the Corporate Communication management and administrative teams as well as with key stakeholders within business units across Georgia Power and the Southern Company system. The selected candidate is responsible for writing or preparing reports and presentations, organizing and scheduling meetings, reviewing incoming messages and requests to determine their significance, making travel arrangements, compiling meeting minutes, conducting research, preparing timesheets and expense reports, as well as routing and processing invoices for payment.

The person occupying this role will also support the Brand and Creative Director by collaborating with external vendors and constituents in the state. This position views confidential information and the successful candidate must be able to maintain that confidentiality. Finally, this role requires someone who is a team player with an exceptional working knowledge of HR databases, financial processes, and administrative best practices.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/Testing:

  • High School Diploma required

  • Successful completion of the EEI SASS (Clerical) and Customer Value Assessment pre-employment test required

  • Professional Certification Preferred (ex. CPS, CAPS)

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience working with executives, managers, and other administrative professionals

  • Experience interfacing with internal and external contacts/decision makers

  • Extensive electronic calendar management, email, and phone experience

  • Advanced computer knowledge and skills using office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Knowledge of time keeping, expense reporting and other information management systems

  • Knowledge creating purchase requisitions and managing vendor invoices and purchase orders

  • Coordinates special administrative projects as assigned to include assigning work, providing project information, giving guidance in support of project objectives

  • Strong organizational, prioritization and calendar management skills

  • Demonstrated evidence of producing work without errors or omissions

  • Demonstrated effectiveness with coordinating projects and events to include: accepting/declining requests, disseminating information, and organizing materials

  • Excellent phone, verbal, and written communications skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of timekeeping systems, human resource databases

  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and retention schedules

  • Advanced secretarial/administrative skills (e.g. customer service and phone skills, time management skills, planning and organizing skills, prioritization skills, scheduling and planning meetings/conference calls, preparing agendas and materials for meetings, coordinating catering for meetings, making travel arrangements, preparing and processing expense statements, invoice processing, file management, email management, calendar management, supplies procurement)

  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively

  • Exceptional communication and active listening skills

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities with competing deadlines to produce high quality results in a quick and efficient manner

Other Requirements:

  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required

  • Residence within the Atlanta area is prefered
