The Role:

Reporting to the Director, the Software Engineering Intern will work within the development team responsible for developing and supporting various platform service components that underpin all content applications across Norstella.

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineering Intern with great communication skills, and most importantly, the ability and willingness to keep learning in this ever-changing technology landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Collaborate with team members on technical design discussions and code reviews.

  • Participate in agile development processes, including stand-ups and sprint planning.

  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues, providing timely resolutions.

  • Document code, processes, and technical decisions for future reference.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and development tools.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • Basic proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C++).

  • Understanding of software development principles and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.

  • Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have):

  • Experience with web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Spring Boot).

  • Knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL).

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
