THE POSITION

Manager IT Project, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI:

Serve as a technical expert for SAP and related technologies (including EDI, External Warehousing Systems, Automation Interfaces, etc.) in order to plan, initiate and manage information technology (IT) projects. Identify and integrate new technologies and best operational practices into the global SAP template with a focus on standardization. Initiate and lead advanced IT projects and strategies globally. Work on global IT projects and implement changes as needed to support Quality Gate and Milestone achievement. Manage and monitor timelines, milestones, and responsibilities. Maintain projects using project management tools (including SAP solutions and standard enterprise office software). Measure projects and demonstrate delivery on-time, in scope, and in budget. Build and maintain excellent network of contacts between global Business Partners, IT competencies, and external service providers to facilitate high quality results and rapid response to changing needs. Enforce standard application strategies while supporting the SAP transports, Change Request Management (ChaRM), and Application Link Enabling (ALE). Supports Level 3 advanced technical resolution for support requests across all SAP modules.

 

Serve as primary on-call support 7 days a month for SAP BASIS topics and manage project activities ad hoc.

 

Telecommuting permitted up to 50% per week. Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Systems, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, plus 5 years of related work experience.

 

In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, the employer will accept an additional 4 years of related work experience.

 

Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

 

  • Using SAP to handle ERP functionality within the automotive industry;
  • Creating solutions to SAP problems related to compliance and interfaces;
  • Implementing new SAP functionality and processes for the automotive industry;
  • Using SAP ALE and IDOCs to facilitate data exchange;
  • Supporting SAP applications through overseeing system performance and internal and external collaborations, including SAP BASIS;
  • Analyzing user requirements, procedures and problems to improve existing SAP systems and processes, manufacturing systems, and customer, supplier and banking interfaces;
  • Collaborating with business, regional and global teams to resolve issues and implement new directives related to interface security, system performance, and connectivity; and
  • Designing and implementing complex SAP TMS landscape solutions, including ChaRM.

     

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

 

  • Supporting SAP BASIS;
  • SAP Production Planning, Material Management, Finance, Controlling, Accounting, Inventory and Warehouse Management, Sales and Delivery, and EDI; and
  • Programming using SAP ABAP.
