Aston Carter Purchasing Specialist in Auburn Hills, Michigan

Description:

Monday-Friday, onsite, 8am-5pm

Essential Responsibilities

• Develops, Coordinates and implements the local regional purchasing strategy for the glass and seals

• Works with multidisciplinary team to continuously optimize cost, quality and performance supplier panel

• Performs independent market analysis to identify new suppliers with the most competitive costs to meet current and future requirements

• Works with multidisciplinary team to prepare and perform costing workshops to establish standard cost models with strategic suppliers

• Develops strong supplier relationships while also monitoring and improving the quality and competitiveness of suppliers and develop corrective action plans with Supplier Development (if needed)

• Performs regular supplier visits and participate in audits

Purchasing, Procurement, Supply chain, Sap, Buyer purchasing, Glass, sealing, Negotiation, Purchase order, tier one supplier, oem, global purchasing, cost control

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 4-year technical degree or degree in business science with high technical affinity or comparable training with specific qualifications

• 3 plus years of experience (preferably with Tier 1 automotive supplier(s))

• Tier 1 supplier experience with OEM a plus

• Profound knowledge of glass & seals category including processes, cost drivers & regional and global markets

• Experience in handling cost calculations and cost modeling with proven track record of successful implementation at key suppliers

• Must have strong negotiation skills

• High Proficiency in MS Office and SAP, Power BI
