Ameresco has a new opportunity for an Asset Performance Manager to join our
Federal & Utility Operations & Maintenance Group. The Asset Performance
Manager will be responsible for providing technical expertise and oversite to
ensure our large-scale renewable energy assets and energy storage systems are
generating the energy and meeting requirements that we guarantee to our
Utility and Federal customers throughout the Western United States.This role
will also provide critical forecast and monthly reports required for external
and internal customers. This position will report to Director - Operations &
Maintenance - Federal West.
Responsibilities:
Gather/Analyze daily site information including commodity meter data, DAS
trend data, PV and BESS production data, and CHP plant performance data.
Evaluate data to verify energy performance and perform financial analysis to
ensure system meets required PPA metrics.
Provide and coordinate real-time technical direction with Ameresco Operations
& Maintenance staff, service contractors, and OEM vendors to address any
identified deficiencies.
Quantification of performance and availability guarantee risks, and the
development of technical response plans to improve the performance of at-risk
sites.
Schedule and conduct site surveys as required for the PV arrays, battery
energy storage and generators to verify equipment is performing as intended to
achieve project energy / capacity requirements.
Provide daily/monthly/annual required reports to Utility customers for
forecasting, billing, etc.
Write and provide required performance and maintenance reports to summarize
findings of surveys and analysis. Reports will clearly convey methodologies
used to verify system performance and any deficiencies that were found to
result in reduced output and availability.
Make recommendations to O&M team of operational and maintenance changes that
would result in additional energy performance.
Program management of a Solar module cleaning program to direct wash spending.
Track system performance pre and post cleaning.
Provide monthly invoice to Utility Customers through Ameresco accounting team.
Assist project development and operations teams in creating performance
assurance protocols for new and existing projects.
Cultivate and foster customer relationships.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
BSEE or equivalent four-year technical engineering degree.
Minimum 5 years' experience performing energy analysis for battery energy
storage, photovoltaic, cogeneration systems, or generators.
Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity and experience with multiple SCADA and data acquisition systems
for Utility scale generation systems preferred.
Experience with power purchase agreements, ISO (CAISO, ERCOT, etc.)
rules, regulations, and operating requirements preferred.
This position may require eligibility to Review DoD Controlled Unclassified
Information (CUI) and/ or the ability to obtain a DoD Non-Escort Access Badge.
Strong engineering fundamentals, data analysis capabilities and utilization
of system trend data to verify proper operations and performance of power
generation equ pment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills.
Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
Ability to travel as required.
