Job Title: Fitness Center Facilities Supervisor

Job Summary:

  • Monday through Thursday: 5 am to 10 pm

  • Fridays: 5 am to 9 pm

  • Saturday and Sunday: 7 am to 5 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates, implements, and trains all staff on standardized work routines for cleaning of the facility and laundry services.

  • Performs daily walkthroughs to visually observe the facility, inspect equipment for potential issues, and inspect the performance of the housekeeping team.

  • Recruit, train, develop, motivate, and evaluate direct reports as needed to meet the demand of services.

  • Works closely with the campus facilities department and the campus building lead to ensure operational readiness.

  • Makes or arranges for the necessary repairs, including replacing or modifying components and/or parts.

  • Ensure pool and spa chemicals, and water quality are up to county specifications. Perform preventative maintenance on all pool lines as needed.

  • Assists with fitness floor and front desk shift coverage.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of previous supervision experience.

  • One (1) to two (2) years of custodial experience in large/high volume commercial buildings.

  • One (1) year of previous fitness facility or similar facility maintenance.

  • Current Certified Pool Operator certification or ability to obtain one within 60 days.

  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • In depth knowledge of fitness center building infrastructure such as pool, spa, HVAC, and some Audio/Visual knowledge.

  • Demonstrated success working in an integrated environment and working within a cross-functional team, including outstanding written and verbal communication, documentation, and presentation.
