Sparrow Partners People Operations Manager in Austin, Texas

The Role

Sparrow is looking for an energetic, resourceful People Operations Manager who is dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging employee experience. Reporting to the VP of People + Culture, this is an exciting opportunity to support a growing team.

What You’ll Do…

  • Develop programs to support employee engagement, community building, wellness and recognition

  • Drive a robust total rewards strategy including partnering with vendors and advocating for perks to differentiate Sparrow

  • Oversee People Operations Administrator (Payroll & Benefits)

  • Support a seamless and memorable onboarding experience

  • Manage leave administration and internal COVID efforts

  • Partner with managers on employee relations issues

  • Act as a resource and listening ear for employee concerns

  • Maintain employee handbook and other supporting policies to comply with federal, state and local regulations


  • 5+ years of HR/People Operations experience

  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local employment legislation including FMLA and ADA; multi state experience preferred

  • Innately supportive, empathetic, nurturing, kind approach

  • Strong discretion; ability to be trusted with confidential, sensitive information

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to run with high level direction

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Naturally curious and always striving to improve

  • Creative, progressive approach to employee engagement

  • Familiarity with Paylocity, not required, but ideal

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly

  • Self-aware and coachable

  • Proven ability to build collaborative partnerships and lead through influence
