Description

We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team based in Baltimore, Maryland. ensuring the smooth running of our financial activities. This position offers a contract/potential contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and support the business operations, working towards set goals.

• Provide recommendations to management on major economic objectives and policies.

• Advise management on operational adjustments when necessary.

• Prepare reports to summarize and forecast the company's business activity and financial position.

• Maintain strict confidentiality in managing transactions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, General Ledger Payroll, etc.

• Perform cash management duties and set up inventory control procedures.

• Conduct account analysis, account coding, and account reconciliation regularly.

• Manage accounting entries, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) according to accounting principles.

• Post and record journal entries, ensuring monthly journal entries and month-end journal entries are accurate.

• Oversee the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of ledger journal entries.

• Execute month-end close procedures and generate month-end reports.

• Perform monthly account reconciliation and monitor inventory valuation.

Requirements

• Proficiency in account analysis and account coding

• Experience with account reconciliation and accounting entries

• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Understanding of accounting principles

• Ability to post, record, and prepare journal entries

• Experience with monthly and month-end journal entries

• Knowledge of ledger journal entries and general journal

• Familiarity with general ledger and month end close

• Ability to prepare month-end reports and month-end financials

• Experience with monthly account reconciliation

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
