Job Description Summary

Aon is looking for an Enterprise Application Portfolio Architect to join the Global Enterprise Architecture team. The team coordinates and optimizes the organization’s application portfolio through comprehensive assessments, lifecycle management, to unlock the full potential of ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM). This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the organization’s application landscape aligns with business goals, optimizes cost, reduces duplication, and improves overall performance and scalability of Aon's software landscape.

The candidate will be instrumental in driving the next wave of Application Portfolio Management innovation by developing target-state architecture and providing reusable standards, guidelines, and application lifecycle frameworks. They will ensure the effective utilization of ServiceNow APM and act as a key advisor for streamlining application assessments, rationalization, and decommissioning.

Key focus areas include application lifecycle management, portfolio optimization, reducing technical debt, and driving architecture automation using ServiceNow’s EA workspace and other capabilities. The candidate will collaborate with teams across the organization, including Technology Service Management (TSM), Enterprise Architecture (EA), and other partners to ensure strategic alignment, optimize decision-making, and provide effective application governance.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Solid background in Application Portfolio Management or related disciplines (2-3 years of experience).

  • Proficient in ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management or similar APM tools.

  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or others.

  • Familiar with application lifecycle management, rationalization strategies, and application governance models.

  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and ability to drive strategic decision-making in fast paced environments.

  • Experience working with global teams and delivering technical architecture solutions.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and leadership skills.

    High level Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of Aon’s Application Portfolio through the development of governance frameworks and standard methodologies for ServiceNow APM.

  • Work closely with global teams to implement application lifecycle management strategies, reducing technical debt, and focusing on efficiency improvement across the application landscape.

  • Serve as the product owner for ServiceNow APM, ensuring seamless adoption and utilization across various business units.

  • Lead and support application rationalization efforts, collaborating with TSM, Enterprise Architecture (EA), and Technology Leadership to align with business and technology goals.

  • Drive application decommissioning initiatives to reduce redundant and underutilized applications while optimizing costs.

  • Develop and implement architecture modelling and governance automation through ServiceNow’s EA workspace and other automation tools.

  • Provide target-state advice, reusable standards, and application lifecycle frameworks to guide the ongoing evolution of Aon’s application portfolio.
